The Moroccan capital city of Rabat, in the Rabat-Sale-Kenitra region of the country, is only the seventh largest city in the country, but can boast a popular racecourse. It has a population of almost 600,000 inhabitants, extending to over 1.2 milliom spread across its administrative region, and enjoys a location on the mouth of the River Bou Regreg leading out to the Atlantic Ocean. It also has one of Moroccos seven racecourses, the Hippodrome Rabat-Souissi, holding a number of its important races, including the Grand Prix de Feu Sa Majeste Le Roi Mohamed V in early June, the Grand Prix De La Sorec in late June, and the Grand Prix de Feu Sa Majeste Le Roi Hassan II in late October.
